In Stockhom city, department stores remain open until 7.00 p.m. or longer Monday - Saturday. Some are also open on Sundays between 12 noon and 4.00 p.m. Shops generally close early the day before a public holiday.

Shopping Areas

The biggest shopping areas stretch from Hötorget to Gamla Stan, via Drottninggatan, and from Hamngatan, Kungsgatan, and Biblioteksgatan down to Stureplan. Normal business hours are 10 a.m. to 6 a.m. Monday-Friday and around 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Many stores are also open on Sundays. If you want to buy a lot and are short on time, go to the big department stores, Gallerian or Sturegallerian.
